Wake up! The time is NOW! Fight back!

I write this post as a reminder to all those dummies down at River Street Cafe who now claim they were lied to by Obama, hoodwinked by the Main Street Media, and led to vote for an inexperienced unknown in the hope that anyone would be better than George W. Bush.

Well, you coffee-swilling lukewarm patriots, to quote former Chief Justice Oliver Wendell Hardy... "Another fine mess you've gotten us into."

Do any of you remember seeing this???

Do you remember these folks???

Yeah, they really pulled the wool over your eyes, ladies and gents. In fact, the truth was out there in plain sight.

Christ Almighty... Wake up!

PERSONAL - Do Not Read - This Means YOU!!

Please excuse me using this blog for personal messages.

A business note to my friend, DC. There's been some slight changes in that shipment of 200 cases of Gucci purses I had FedExed to you yesterday from New Jersey. I can't explain right now, but trust me... when they arrive, refrigerate them. Quickly.

Competition has become a dirty word in schools, says Dame Kelly

Fay Schlesinger of the Daily Mail reports on the continued softening of Western culture.
"Last year the Football Association banned children under the age of eight from playing in football leagues and cups amid fears they are under too much pressure.

Youngsters can still play matches but results must be kept private and no league tables can be compiled.

They should not compete in knockout tournaments where trophies or medals are at stake, FA officials said."
Dame Kelly Holmes yesterday launched a stinging attack on the decline of competitive sport in schools and said it risked spawning a generation of bad losers.
The double Olympic champion and former Army physical training instructor blamed a culture of political correctness for making 'competitiveness' a dirty word.

Her comments come a year after Gordon Brown admitted Labour had made a 'tragic mistake' by allowing dozens of mainly left-wing councils to scrap competitive sports in schools in the 1980s.

This meant huge numbers of inter- school matches and tournaments were cut from state schools after theorists claimed children on losing teams could end up psychologically traumatised.

Blog Romance ???

I don't know what to say. I'm as giddy as a Skidmore coed. Let me explain. I received a message today:
Nickie, I need to talk with you. Since you are in Los Angeles for the week, can we meet? Phone me at - - - - - - ,
Opus #6 (Opie)
I'm only human, and not unfamiliar with the exotic intoxicating courtship dance, so I phoned her. Opie's low breathless voice resurrected memories of warm beaches and cool Tahitian nights. Nickie knows how to set the hook, so I insisted she pick the swankiest joint in town where we could meet for a chop and chowder. Her suggestion was Roger Moore's Olde Worlde Joust House in Hawaiian Gardens, a theme restaurant offering an ambiance blending medieval sport and Chaucerian bawdiness. It was just the ticket!

I arrived a little late thanks to a transmission that, if there were any justice in this world, would turn up one morning, oozing fluid, under the covers on the king-size mattress of Lee Iacocca. But that's another story for another time.

Opie was waiting patiently for me. She had the whole package. Blonde hair down to here. Legs up to there. She was the kind of dame who'd make a vegan ravage a flank steak. Opie was six foot tall and about a hundred and ten pounds of youthful ivory-faced femininity barely poured into a scarlet lycra chemise. Her eyes were bluebirds in flight, her cheeks looked as soft as ripe peaches with just a hint of their color. She was smoking a cigarette in a red holder that was not quite as long as a Mazda Miata. She said:
"Nickie, I need a man!"
I was in the right place at the right time. The evening seemed to fly by. I can only recall it now through the vaseline-smeared lenses of passion and testosterone. It was all going swimmingly until Opie's elderly companion, LL, stopped by the table.

He was white and shaken, like a dry martini. To be fair, LL's a fun old guy, a hairy diminutive elf who freely shares lengthy anecdotes of his 51 years in retail menswear. His knowledge of serge and mohair merchants is encyclopedic. His epic 27 minute long tale of selling Sam Yorty a vented sports coat was made a bit tedious, though, by his heavy stammering and sweating. Tonight's rendezvous ended abruptly when LL felt a stinging shooting creeping cramp in his left calf requiring Opie to fetch the car to deliver him back to his basement bedroom at his daughter's house in Pico Rivera.

As LL wedged himself into the passenger seat of Opie's sporty coupe, repeating an earlier rant about the inability of today's young men to properly wear houndstooth, Opie and I exchanged a fleeting glance that clearly predicted rumpled sheets and country strolls.

Those are my memories of the evening. Have I imagined too much? Have I incorrectly recalled her blushing and eye-batting? Memories are like mulligatawny soup in a roadside restaurant. It is best not to stir them. Tonight I will sleep lightly with her sweet name on my lips.

Rage, rage!!

The America of my youth is being wasted, neglected, and mocked by an intellectually lazy electorate and a corrupt Chicago political machine. As my years advance, I now cry out to the Patriots and heroes who feel hopeless to rescue their country from the villains.

What Dylan Thomas wrote to his dying father, I repeat to those who are tempted to weakly witness the death of freedom in America with resignation.
..

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieve it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

CAR-BOAT ADVENTURERS' QUEST HALTED
Men hoping to sail round Italy in converted pink Maserati

(ANSA) - La Spezia, July 21 - Two men bidding to sail around Italy in a converted pink Maserati were fighting to persuade the coastguard to release their 'car-boat' on Tuesday after it was confiscated for not being seaworthy.

The coastguard intercepted Marco Amoretti and Marcolino De Candia off the coast of the Tuscan town of Forte dei Marmi on Monday after beach-goers alerted them to a car in the sea.

Worried the vehicle had ended up in the water by accident, a coastguard boat rushed to the scene to find Amoretti and De Candia in the waterproofed car, which has been equipped with an outboard motor and buoyant polyurethane to make it float.

The men explained they had set of from their hometown of Sarzana, near La Spezia, and were planning to circumnavigate the Italian coast to arrive in Venice.

But the coastguard was not amused when they found the Maserati-boat, which the men have named Miriam, did not have the necessary documents attesting to its seaworthiness nor any safety features.

"Considering the weather conditions, the fact that it was nearly dusk and the slow speed of the craft (two knots), the car-boat was escorted to to land, confiscated and fined," the coastguard said.

Amoretti and De Candia claim the car-boat is perfectly safe and hope they can continue their journey.

"This isn't the first time we've done it," they told the coastguard.

In 1999 the pair crossed the Atlantic in a boat fashioned from a Ford Taurus and a Volkswagen Passat, leaving from the Canary Islands and arriving on the island of Martinique 119 days later.

Nickie Goomba sez: "When I had a Taurus back in 1991, I had to wear a wetsuit to drive the thing on a rainy day. If the wind blew on a wet morning, the passenger side window would pop out of its seal. Sail the Atlantic in it?? I can't imagine driving to work in it.

The Obama Agenda

The Wordsmith has written a brief blog entry that is surely the first chapter of Obama's political eulogy. Visit his blog for a healthy dose of Conservatism.

It usually doesn't happen this quickly in Washington. But President Barack Obama and congressional Democrats are finding that the old maxim that what goes around, comes around applies to them, too. Less than six months into his term, Mr. Obama's top initiatives -- health-care reform and "cap and trade" energy legislation -- are in serious jeopardy and he has himself and his congressional allies to blame.

It's time for Congress to totally drop the the leftist 'agenda of Obama' with finality!

Obama is ruining healthcare, ruining the economy with 'cap and trade', making paupers out of Americans with huge tax increases.

We're lucky that "Cool" the community organizer is too stupid to realize he's not in Chicago anymore. I hope his arrogant and naive tactics continue...next step is to start threatining voters (he started on Friday's no questions presser).

We always knew that we had to suffer the consequences of failed leftism before we got back on track. Goodbye leftists, in six months you've done more for conservatism than any conservative could ever had hoped for.

Happy Anniversary

It's Not An Option

It didn't take long to find this horrifying loophole
"What wasn't known until now is that the bill itself will kill the market for private individual coverage by not letting any new policies be written after the public option becomes law."
Investor's Business Daily spells out the troubling details.

Congress: It didn't take long to run into an "uh-oh" moment when reading the House's "health care for all Americans" bill. Right there on Page 16 is a provision making individual private medical insurance illegal.

When we first saw the paragraph Tuesday, just after the 1,018-page document was released, we thought we surely must be misreading it. So we sought help from the House Ways and Means Committee.

It turns out we were right: The provision would indeed outlaw individual private coverage. Under the Orwellian header of "Protecting The Choice To Keep Current Coverage," the "Limitation On New Enrollment" section of the bill clearly states:

"Except as provided in this paragraph, the individual health insurance issuer offering such coverage does not enroll any individual in such coverage if the first effective date of coverage is on or after the first day" of the year the legislation becomes law.

So we can all keep our coverage, just as promised — with, of course, exceptions: Those who currently have private individual coverage won't be able to change it. Nor will those who leave a company to work for themselves be free to buy individual plans from private carriers. (More...)

Please contact your elected representative before the "Democrats" sneak this legislation through.
