I Guess That Closet Wasn't So Crowded After All

Ever wondered why all those gays stopped coming out of the closet? There weren't that many of them to begin with. Their agenda to legitimatize perversion was the same tactic practiced by the pro-abortion activists murderous feminists before Roe v. Wade made baby murder legal. They simply lied through their teeth and the media let them get away with it. Even the case presented to the Supreme Court was a set up. The woman was not raped. She simply got knocked up and lied about it.

I remember those days very well. In 1972 I was just out of college and the debate had been raging for some time. The number quoted by feminist murders was 10,000. That's right. Over 10,000 women a year died from coat hangers. When I finally looked it up in the CDC statistics, it was actually around 25. Not 25,000 mind you, just under 25 ....
In 1972 (the year before abortion was federally legalized), a total of 24 women died from causes known to be associated with legal abortions, and 39 died as a result of known illegal abortions (CDC).
The leftists have not changed their tactics. They are lying again. We don't have uncounted millions of gay fellows longing to breathe free while biting the pillow. They do not comprise 25% or even 10% of the US population.
One in ten. It's the name of the group that puts on the Reel Affirmations gay and lesbian film festival in Washington, D.C., each year. It's the percent popularized by the Kinsey Report as the size of the gay male population. And it's among the most common figures pointed to in popular culture as an estimate of how many people are gay or lesbian.

But what percentage of the population is actually gay or lesbian? With the debate over same-sex marriage again an emerging fault line in American political life, the answer comes as a surprise: A lower number than you might think -- and a much, much, much lower one than most Americans believe.

In surveys conducted in 2002 and 2011, pollsters at Gallup found that members of the American public massively overestimated how many people are gay or lesbian. In 2002, a quarter of those surveyed guessed upwards of a quarter of Americans were gay or lesbian (or "homosexual," the third option given). By 2011, that misperception had only grown, with more than a third of those surveyed now guessing that more than 25 percent of Americans are gay or lesbian. Women and young adults were most likely to provide high estimates, approximating that 30 percent of the population is gay. Overall, "U.S. adults, on average, estimate that 25 percent of Americans are gay or lesbian," Gallup found. Only 4 percent of all those surveyed in 2011 and about 8 percent of those surveyed in 2002 correctly guessed that fewer than 5 percent of Americans identify as gay or lesbian.
So, how many are there? No one knows for sure. Estimates range from 4 to 9 million in the US. That is about 1.3% to maybe 6% of the population.

Conservative Bloggers At Risk

Guess who's coming to dinner?

Conservative bloggers who report on the activities of convicted domestic terrorist Brett Kimberlin are the target of SWAT attacks where their phone numbers are hacked and used to make phony 911 calls that implicate them in violent acts. Of course the police are going to respond and a SWAT unit may enter your the house in full tactical mode - someone could get shot. This is an insanely dangerous prank.

A list of SWATted bloggers was assembled by Big Fur Hat at iOTW:
We are at WAR people. REAL war.

Patterico – Lawyer

Aaron Walker – Lawyer

Erick Erickson – Inactive member of the Georgia State Bar

Ace of Spades – I believe he has something to do with law or law enforcement. (I apologize if I have this wrong.)

Stacy McCain’s wife, I believe, has something to do with law or law enforcement. (I apologize if I have this wrong.)

I may not be Commissioner Gordon, but I do believe we are seeing a pattern in Gotham City.
Erick Erickson of Red State had this to say:
Last week we spent a lot of time writing about Brett Kimberlin and the incident involving blogger Patterico where someone spoofed his phone number and told 911 he had shot his wife.

Tonight, my family was sitting around the kitchen table eating dinner when sheriffs deputies pulled up in the driveway.

Someone called 911 from my address claiming there had been an accidental shooting.

It wasn’t nearly the trauma that Patterico suffered, but I guess the Erickson household is on somebody’s radar.

Luckily it was two sheriffs deputies who knew me and I had already, last week, advised the Sheriff’s Department to be on the look out for something like this.
This is what conservative blogger Patrick Frey and his family experienced:

In The News

They See The Train Wreck Coming
Former Congressman Arthur Davis (D-Alabama R-Virginia?) has announced he is joining the GOP. This was the guy who seconded the Presidential nomination of Obama at the 2008 DNC convention. And in another development, the Black Caucus states that they are tired of making excuses for Obama.

Bet The Door Didn't Hit Them On The Ass On Their Way Out
The liberal pastor of a not so liberal church just lost two thirds of his congregation when he announced his support for gay marriage. Oliver White, pastor of Grace Community United Church of Christ in St. Paul, MN, is now preaching to a lot of empty pews on Sundays. And he is also looking for a "miracle donation" to help with the $200,000 mortgage that the church cannot pay. Good luck with that and, yes, ask Jesus to bless you financially for taking a position which is diametrically opposed in scripture.

Just Go Yugo
It is reported that Venezuelan President-for-just-a-little-while-longer Chavez is now in the tertiary, or final stage of cancer. The only good news from his Cuban doctors is that he no longer needs a night light, he glows in the dark.

New York Loses, Again

Having just flown back from a wonderful four-day mini vacation in North Carolina yesterday, I was particularly interested in this CNS article.
New York State accounted for the biggest migration exodus of any state in the nation between 2000 and 2010, with 3.4 million residents leaving over that period, according to the Tax Foundation.
Knowing that the state had already lost two Congressional seats, this came as no surprise.
Where are they escaping to? The Tax Foundation found that more than 600,000 New York residents moved to Florida over the decade – opting perhaps for the Sunshine State’s more lenient tax system – taking nearly $20 billion in adjusted growth income with them.
Using the NYS tax rate of 6.85%, that's $1.3 billion that NYS politicians didn't get to piss away.

To see where NYS refugees have settled, go here. This is a migration calculator assembled by the Tax Foundation to show migration between the states and how much income they took when they moved. In ten years (2001-2010) North Carolina received 185,000 refugees from NY and realized $4.5 billion in additional Adjusted Gross Income (AGI).
