Jiminy Cricket! Chinese troops on American soil?!?

Will this be a scene in Waikiki?
  I can't believe this!
Aloha Hawaiians! If you see what you think are soldiers from the Communist Peoples Republic of China Army wandering about in your neck of the woods Tuesday through Thursday next week, your imagination is not playing tricks on you.

For the first time in history the U.S. Army will host the Communist Peoples Republic of China’s Army on American soil Nov. 12-14, 2013.

[...]The exercise is touted as a unified move “to test the resiliency of the U.S. power grid to withstand major damage causes by a natural disaster or deliberate attack”.
What if these sons of bitches are armed? And why would we want Chinese troops on our soil for any reason? Is there a reciprocal agreement where American troops (or any other nation's troops for that matter) will be landing in Shanghai?

As reported in the NY Slimes, GridEx2 is an exercise designed to test our ability to withstand the complete shut down of the nation's power grid. But again, why in Heaven's name would we practice bringing the armed forces of a foreign nation into our country when we are at our most vulnerable? This is insane! And if not insane, insidious.

Something stinks in Washington, DC, and it ain't cheese. Hawaii is the so-called home state of the Kenyan-in-Residence. Is this some kind of screwed up wet dream that he entertained in order to get back at the non-Choomers? A massive Chinese food take-in to replace all the electric woks that won't work? Will they look for his birth certificate?

The Chinese have boasted that they can now hit many American cities with nuclear weapons and that they have an American carrier killer missile. Now we let them stroll around our beaches and take endless photos with cheap cameras?

Why not the Canadian Army, eh? They speak English and they'll bring their own beer! Or how about the Mexican Army? At least many Americans speak the lingo, most of their relatives are here already and they can take a bus! Why the freaking Chinese?

Because they have no compulsion against shooting American citizens, that's why.

Nothing about this that bodes well for America makes any sense...

No Matter How He Looks, He's Still Made In the Image of God.

A long time alcoholic, homeless vet allows some people to outwardly transformation him and is subsequently inwardly transformed.

This is the result of a Christian outreach organization called Degage Ministries. I think they're worthy of a donation or two.

Romans 12:1-2
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God
.

I think sometimes you just have to show someone that, with a little work, a real difference is possible.

My Two Cents

This whole Incognito  v. Martin brouhaha is nonsense. Who cares? Mean ole meanies on a football team - huge alpha males sparring verbally and physically with each other to establish a pecking order. It started with Cain and Abel and it isn't going to stop just because a bunch of metrosexuals feel that football should be played by men who are nice to each other.

Sports Illustrated has an article submitted by a former Miami player, Lydon Murtha,  who defends Incognito and says the whole thing is blown out of proportion. I offer here the very beginning and the very end of Murtha's opinion.
I don’t have a dog in this fight.

I want that to be very clear. I played offensive tackle for the Miami Dolphins from 2009 until the 2012 preseason, when I was released after tearing ligaments in my foot and injuring my back, both requiring surgery. I have since retired, and I’m happily working in the auto industry and living outside of Miami. I went to college at Nebraska with Richie Incognito, and I consider myself friends with him and Jonathan Martin, but I don’t speak with them regularly and I’m not taking sides. I’m only interested in the truth, which is what I’m going to share, from my own experiences and from conversations with friends still on the team.

[...]The most unfortunate thing about this situation is the consequence it will have on the careers of both men. Richie’s marked himself now as a racist and a bigot, and unfortunately that could be the end of it. Martin is on the opposite end of the spectrum, but no more likely than Incognito to return to the NFL if he wants. In going to the media with his problem, Martin broke the code, and it shows that he’s not there for his teammates and he’s not standing up for himself. There might be a team that gives him a chance because he’s a good person, but the players will reject him. They’ll think, If I say one thing he’s going to the press. He’ll never earn the respect of teammates and personnel in the NFL because he didn’t take care of business the right way.

What fans should understand is that every day in the NFL there are battles between players worse than what’s being portrayed. This racial slur would be a blip on the radar if everything that happens in the locker room went public. But all over the league, problems are hashed out in house. Either you talk about it or you get physical. But at the end of the day, you handle it indoors.
If you read the comments you'll wonder what happened to men in this country. Bullying and hazing is just another politically correct term used to justify the continued feminization of America. Pretty soon they'll force the NFL to inject Lorazepam and Ritalin into all players just before the game.

This whole thing sounds like a set up for a lawsuit by a player who couldn't hack it.

Gov. Cuomo's Economic Development Plans For NY

Gun manufacturers are moving out of New York.
Nearly 10 months since New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D.) signed the SAFE Act, opposition to the law continues to increase, multiple gun companies have announced plans to leave the state, and a key provision in the law has been quietly delayed.
American Tactical Imports (ATI) announced it would be leaving the state and will be investing $2.7 million in its new facility and creating 117 new jobs in South Carolina.

ATI’s announcement follows the decision of Kahr Arms to relocate to neighboring Pennsylvania, citing “uncertainty” about gun laws following the passage of the SAFE Act.

“One of our big concerns was, OK, the SAFE Act was passed in the middle of the night. You wake up the next morning and boom, that was it,” Kahr Vice President of Sales and Marketing Frank Harris told the Times Union in July. “It’s not just the SAFE Act, but the uncertainty.”

Meanwhile, Remington Arms is reportedly scouting locations in Tennessee for a new plant, following passage of the SAFE Act.
If Remington moves out that will be huge. Remington is located in Ilion, NY, about 70 miles due east of me. When my youngest daughter was competing in track she ran hurdles about two blocks from the Remington factory. This little blurb is from Remington's corporate site.
In 1816, Eliphalet Remington needed a rifle. Out of necessity and a few iron scraps, he forged his own and an icon was born. Since then, Remington has come to define a nation - along the way, seeing many milestones. The Model 870,™ the Model 700™ and Core-Lokt® ammunition, to name a few.

The history of Remington is of course closely tied to our military personnel and lawmen. Since the middle of the 19th century, whenever American forces stepped onto the field of battle, our weapons were there with them - a truth that continues to this day.

We are a company of innovation. Led by a team of the most powerful minds in the industry and operating under the most advanced R&D network in the world. New for 2013, we introduced the Model 783,™ a bolt-action that puts tack-driving accuracy within the reach of most consumers, and HyperSonic™ Centerfire ammunition, a pinnacle achievement in bonded bullet technology.
In 1978 I bought my favorite shotgun, a Remington 1100. I love that gun, I still have it and still hunt with it. I had a Wingmaster 870 before that and I wish I never sold it.

Years ago there was a Remington factory in downtown Syracuse. They made mod. 1911 pistols for the military during WWII. Years later their factory was converted into our first community college. If one of the oldest manufacturers in NY State history, Remington Arms, and their jobs move out of NY, you know who to blame; Andrew Cuomo and the dems.

Land Of The Once Free, Home Of The White Trash

We all saw it coming. Step by step, little by little we witnessed the coarsening of society. Perhaps we tsk-tsked over it and made a few snide remarks about the dreadful lack of propriety. Or walked away from a storefront where some 350 pound Dulcinea is screaming at a uniformed Don Quixote. But that did absolutely nothing to reverse the trickle, and now the avalanche of white trash.

Some find it amusing, even refreshing to see the great unwashed blossom into a freak show. But the moral values that made our culture the envy of the world are also the foundation on which our nation was built. And they are crumbling.

Self reliance? Gone - we discovered social programs.

Hard work? Gone - we removed most restrictions for collecting some form of welfare.

Chastity? Modesty? Faithfulness to your spouse? Gone - we got Snooki and Miley and Paris and when they're retired we'll have a whole new generation of twerking sluts that will make the aforementioned unholy trio look like cloistered nuns.

Respect for tradition? Gone - the new heroes are queers, queefs, tranys and some God forsaken gender that hasn't been thought of yet. Probably something to do with interspecies breeding with hamsters or bats. You doubt this? Some pervert will get his hands on a DNA sequencing cookbook so he can play with himself while hanging from his knees for extended periods of time. And by then everything will be a right, nothing will be withheld from the fevered imaginations of men who have rejected any and all measures of self control. The federal government will see to it.

In any event, the NY Post makes passing mention of the demise of our society:
Society crumbles when it takes cues from the underclass

When Snooki, whose talents include getting sloppy drunk and throwing up on camera, made Barbara Walters’ “Ten Most Fascinating People” list a few years back, one could only ask: Was Octomom not available?

Last year, “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo,” which features a cornucopia of social ills, was TLC’s highest-rated show, attracting more cable viewers than the Republican National Convention, which had the misfortune to share the time slot with the charmers from Georgia. The show’s matriarch, June Shannon, has four daughters by four men, one of whose names she can’t recall.
For years I patrolled neighborhoods like this. The pandemonium generated by these people is something to behold. One call after another for fights, drunkenness, disturbances, neighbor disputes, domestic disputes, knifings, brawls, property damage, incest, fires, sexual molestation, murder, children running wild, parents running wild (mostly just a parent, Lord only knew where the other one was), abductions, seductions, every kind of fraud imaginable, thievery, knavery, sodomy and that's all before the shooting starts. Places everyone! Action! Let the ambulances roll!

And it's all on your dollar.

The proverbial ten pounds of crap in a five pound bag with an idiot-in-waiting for a chaser.
Do you watch Honey Boo Boo? That show is a curse, a foul prophetic vision of what America now accepts as the norm.
White Trash is the new normal — and you don’t have to tune in to reality TV to rub elbows with pathologies that once stayed put in Skunk Hollow. White Trash Normal has invaded every nook and cranny of life, from table manners, to dress, to money management.

Remember when bouncing a check was shameful? Now apparently it’s shameful for banks to charge overdraft fees.

Students of Arnold Toynbee, the English historian, will recognize what is going on here. In a chapter of his “A Study of History” entitled “Schism in the Soul,” Toynbee argued that it is a sign that a society is disintegrating when it takes its cues for manners and customs from the underclass. He describes such societies as being “truant” to their own values.
I really should take my meds now.

Will We Ever Learn Exactly What Happened?

Yeah, I know, it's the Enquirer. But if memory serves me well, they're the ones who broke the story about Breck Boy Edwards' love child and ruined his shot at a spot on the Presidential ticket.
Blockbuster secrets about President John F. Kennedy’s autopsy are finally being revealed by doctors who treated America’s dying Commander-in-Chief 50 years ago in Dallas.

A sensational special report reveals the physicians’ riveting minute-by-minute accounts of the mortally wounded leader’s final moments – and their charge that the government’s verdict on Kennedy’s death is WRONG!

The shattering disclosures by medics at Dallas’ Parkland Hospital include a bombshell claim Kennedy had a bullet entry wound in the front of his neck – disputing the Warren commission’s verdict that he was shot from behind.
Over to the FoTM, Dr. Eowyn has this to say:
I normally avoid all JFK assassination conspiracy theories like the plague. But a new book caught my attention.

Written by a medical doctor, Allen Childs, the book’s title is self-explanatory: We Were There: Revelations from the Dallas Doctors Who Attended to JFK on November 22, 1963.

Dr. Childs has been a psychiatrist for 47 years, and was the US Army’s Chief of Mental Hygiene for the Island of Oahu during the Vietnam War. Childs was a medical student at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas, the day the mortally wounded President Kennedy was brought to the emergency room. His book, We Were There, brings together the memories of the medical students, interns, residents and, most importantly, the attending physicians who were at Parkland Hospital on that fateful day 50 years ago.

The official conclusion of the Warren Commission report was that Kennedy had been shot from behind by a lone gunman, Lee Harvey Oswald, who fired as the motorcade passed the Texas school Book Depository building overlooking Dallas’ Dealey Plaza.

But, as disclosed in We Were There, four Parkland Hospital doctors, experts in gunshot wounds who saw JFK before he was given a tracheostomy, saw a bullet wound in the front of Kennedy’s neck “where his collar should have been” – a wound that was caused by a bullet entering, not leaving, his body.
There are all kinds of theories still flying around fifty years after Jack got his brains blowed out all over that pretty lady's dress. How about this one?

Did a hungover Secret Service agent accidentally shoot JFK?

More theories here.

Those Pesky Reactors

You scrimp and save and sweat and worry while raising a young reactor and this is what happens.
Tehran did its utmost to conceal the mystery blast which last week struck the heavy water reactor under construction at Arak in western Iran. It is revealed here for the first time by DebkaFile's intelligence and Iranian sources. The explosion, whether accidental or not, will delay for a second time the reactor’s first test with real fuel. Tehran informed the International Atomic Energy Agency in August of a previous holdup.

The cause of the blast and the extent of the damage it caused have not yet been established. According to the partial information initially reaching our sources, it occurred inside the reactor building when preparations were underway for a test scheduled for this month with artificial fuel and light water. The site of the explosion may have been the large coolant containers and the pressure gauges attached to the reactor’s core.

Iranian Atomic Council experts and intelligence agents are testing four possible causes of the explosion:

1. Sabotage.
2. A virus planted in the computers that control the systems administering the test.
3. An error in engineering calculations in the design of the coolant containers which underestimated their strength for standing up to the required level of pressure.
4. The deliberate sale to Iran of inferior steel materials that were not strong enough to withstand such pressure.
It's a shame when a young reactor goes astray.

Gentle Persuasion

Here is an interesting story about the conversion of a media personality from atheism to Christianity. It took months and months for Kirsten Powers to become a believer, but this process is neither amazing nor extraordinary. It is an example of the inexorable will of our Savior.
Just seven years ago, if someone had told me that I'd be writing for Christianity Today magazine about how I came to believe in God, I would have laughed out loud. If there was one thing in which I was completely secure, it was that I would never adhere to any religion—especially to evangelical Christianity, which I held in particular contempt.
Romans 8:29
For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of
his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.
